9 out of 10 products in the whole world are stored in corrugated fiberboard packages. This material, also known as containerboard, is popular for the following reasons:
Excellent shock absorbing properties. Corrugated fiberboard boxes are resistant to impact and they do not get damaged after falling from low height.
Durability is increased by the fluted layer and therefore damage due to compression is avoided.
Tendency to sustain shape. Corrugated packaging does not deform due to vibration and, therefore, production packed in cardboard boxes is not easily damaged.
Wide application. It is possible to achieve any hardness of packaging by using different density and thickness of fiberboard (3 to 7 cardboard layers). Containerboard products are used as practical packaging for almost any items: food products, domestic chemical substances, glassware etc.
Convenient transportation. Corrugated fiberboard is lightweight. A corrugated package intended for transportation weighs 100g or more. When expensive equipment is involved you are advised to use multi-layered boxes. These may weigh in up to 5kg.
Compactness. A folded cardboard package saves space in warehouses. Costs of transportation and loading-unloading services are decreased due to compactness of these boxes.
Eco-friendliness. Waste-paper is often used to produce corrugated packaging. It is simple to recycle a cardboard package and this has a positive effect on the environment.
